TLD: Top-Level Domain:
TLD or also know as the top level domain is a domain extension, there are many TLDs which are available online, usually .com domains are more common and the most popular for commercial and business use specially while .org domains are for nonprofit organizations. This format gives your website a credibility because .org domain built is on the basis of trust and loyalty. It's the domain commonly used for organizations dedicated to no profit humanitarian work.
So, a more popular extension domain drives more high and organic traffic as users often write it by default and it is more easy to remember. Other popular choices are .net, .io, .inc, dev and more.

However, a less popular extension, such as .online, .xyz, .club is often less expensive and you can use these domain befitting your business style. With the current increase of new websites which is being created daily, the popularity of a top-level domain might also evolve in the future.
1. ccTLD: Country-Code Top-Level Domain
A country-code top-level domain is a country specific domain extension to a particular country. The ccTLD domain uses two letters based on the international country code. For example, example.com can be universal for everyone in the world while example.us is specifically for America and example.uk is for United Kingdom and example.de is for Germany.

Some platforms also help to find the correct country codes, as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)’s database illustrates sites from United States of America use .us as their extensions, whereas .eu domains are mostly registered for the European union based locations. ccTLD is beneficial and useful for companies that focused on specific countries. In that way, international companies can differentiate their content or webpage for different regions according to their locations.
2. gTLD: Generic Top-Level Domain
A generic top-level domain is a domain extension that does not need any country code. There are no specific basis to obtain a gTLD domain address. But some domain extensions are sponsored by some of the designated agencies or organizations. But you need to be careful not to confuse the visitors, as some domains have certain associations entangled to it. For an instance, the .org domain extension is associated with the sites of organizations.

Some generic top level domains are reserved for specific types of registrants. For an example, an academic institution can use the domain address .edu, and any governmental agency can use .gov for their domain address. If your company does not belong to a particular category or type then you may not be able to use the generic TLDs associated with it. But you can use other domain extensions which are available instead.
Subdomain
A subdomain is a division from a parent domain that still shares the same servers. There is no need to register for a subdomain because the www of most URLs is a subdomain that shows that a website is a part of the world wide web.

The most common and obvious reason to create subdomains is to organize and divide web your websites content into separate sections. For example, developers.example.com shows that that section of domain is for developers of that particular example domain. Another good example is support.example.com meaning it is to give support for that particular domain. Another way to use subdomain is in terms of page language based subdomain too. For example shop.example.uk
